Matchmaking by PWR

Your PWR Rating decides your draw. Groups and seeds are set by rating, so first-round matches are close and the strongest pairs meet late.

02 / PWR Rating

PWR, in plain words.

Your rating
Total pointsMatches played=PWR

PWR is your average per match. Every match you play earns points, and your rating is those points shared across all your matches. It rewards how well you play, not how often.

Right now, Bhupal has 513 points from 38 matches. That's a PWR of 13.5.
A

Win the match, take the big share

The winning pair gets the most points from every match. In a group match, a win is worth 10.

B

Every game counts, even in a loss

Lose 6–5 and you still bank points for your 5 games. A close loss keeps your rating up; a 6–0 loss earns nothing.

C

Bigger rounds are worth more

Knockout rounds multiply your points. Silver Cup rounds are worth 1.3× to 1.5×, Gold Cup rounds 1.6× to 2×, so a Gold final is worth twice a group match.

Groups

Entries are sorted by PWR and spread across groups, so every group has a mix of levels and no group is stacked.

Seeds

The highest-rated pairs are seeded apart in the knockouts, so they can only meet in the later rounds.

Level caps

Some editions set a rating cap, so a level stays fair. The cap is posted in the WhatsApp group with the entry link.

06 / Questions

Asked a lot.

I've never played one. Do I have a PWR?
Not yet. You join the board after your first tournament, and your rating settles as you play more matches. Until then we place you using what you tell us about your level when you enter.
Can my rating go down?
Yes. PWR is an average, so a tournament where you win fewer points than usual lowers it, and a strong one raises it. Playing more never hurts on its own.
Why is the top of the PWR list only players with 10+ matches?
A player who wins all six matches of their first tournament can have a higher average than someone with fifty matches. Ten matches is where an average starts to mean something. Search still finds every player.
Where do I find my match videos and photos?
They go up after each edition, linked from this page and shared in the WhatsApp group.
How do I enter the next tournament?
Join the WhatsApp group. The date, level and entry link are posted there first.
